Behind the SCENE: FROM FINANCE TO FASHION

INNNA isn't just a brand; it's the tale of a woman who aspired to be a fashion designer yet made the practical choice of pursuing a career in finance - only to find her ultimate destiny in merging the two. From spreadsheets to design, this is the story of how my brand was born.

As a young girl, Inna devoted all her free time to watching Fashion TV and following fashion trends. She keenly absorbed every detail, imagining how she could pave her way and make her mark in the world of fashion.

Her neighbour happened to be a tailor, and Inna would eagerly dash to her house with her crude sketches. Her mother had to take her to a nearby city to get hold of fabrics, as their small town had limited options - and Inna’s discerning taste always gravitated towards the finest quality.

Inna still amazed that her mother agreed to all of this. They weren't well-off, and it was a considerable expense, but her mom supported her all the same.

While Inna’s heart yearned for a career in fashion, she didn't initially pursue it. Constrained by financial limitations, she decided not to enrol in a costly fashion university. Instead, Inna chose the path of practicality and opted for a finance degree. And for years, her dream of becoming a designer seemed unattainable.

However, fate had other plans.

The foundation of INNNA was laid during Inna’s two-decade career as an accountant. She had a penchant for suits throughout her corporate life, yet most designs left her feeling uninspired. The quest for a suit that looked unique yet professional was always an uphill battle. The fashion market offered only extremes - conventional, plain tailoring or extravagant, over-the-top designs.

On top of that, traditional business suits didn't fit the bill for impromptu gatherings with friends, and changing out of them post-work was an inconvenience. There was a gap to be filled, a need for a middle ground that allowed for creative self-expression without sacrificing sophistication.

To express her individuality, Inna turned to custom tailoring. Each suit she wore became a conversation starter, piquing people's curiosity and prompting questions about its origin. Inna experimented with many alterations, from asymmetric patterns to striking collars in a diverse palette of colours.

A few years later, Inna’s experimentation evolved into the launch of INNNA. This marked an unexpected union of her two passions: finance and fashion.

Interestingly, Inna genuinely loves finance and find fulfilment in both her careers. This duality allows her to merge creativity and analytical thinking, both of which help her bring fresh and unique perspectives to her brand.

Today, Inna’s transition from finance to fashion feels like a seamless journey. Her finance background not only supports her creative endeavours (She like to say that: “My finance finances my fashion”), but also brings a distinct angle to her designs.

Inna understands how important it is for busy career women to look professional and stylish. She wants to be fashionable and on-trend, just like any woman. Each INNNA blazer has a distinctive character, blending the worlds of finance and fashion into a single, beautiful statement piece.

Inna’s journey from accountant to fashion designer may seem unconventional, but it shows that with creativity and determination, you can make seemingly incompatible dreams come true. By rewriting the rules and defying expectations, Inna has proven that her passions can become a reality.
